B.F.F. = God

Jan 05, 2024

Is God your B.F.F. (Best Friend Forever)?

Did you know God can be your B.F.F.?

Yes – it’s possible.

Staying close to God like a friend in the flesh is what we can do.

How does it happen?

It’s a mind shift. Taking our actions of our friendships here on earth to how we can and need to relate to God. Let me explain further.

Women need friends to verbally process things in our lives, that’s just how women are - - blab, blab, blab. It’s okay because we’re made this way.

However, when we seek out our friends to constantly fill us full of reassurance, confidence, strength, understanding, and solutions we can get into a weird relationship and dependence on them. Then we are seeking out validation and the need to fill the emptiness we feel within.

I’ve experienced this constant search and seeking for others to fill me up. It borders on the lines of crazy and it needed to stop. God needed to fill the voids and close the gap in my soul - NOT another human being. Once I realized this over dependency on others to try to fix my problems, it led to the next big question that I already asked.

How do I make God my B.F.F.?

It takes time to develop a relationship with God, just like it would with a friend in the flesh. There needs to be time to connect and spend time together, listen, talk, vent, share frustrations, and excitement. The best thing to do is to imagine what we do without friends here on earth; this is the way to think of how we develop our relationship with God.

God Time Developing Tips

  1.  Five Minutes to Come Alive – Give God five minutes of your time each day.
  2.  Same Time, Same Place – Set aside the same time each day and a specific place to meet with God.
  3.  Spiritual Tool Kit – Make sure you have all the items needed for your time with God - Bible, devotional, journal, etc.

No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you. John 15:15 ESV

Letting God become your Best Friend Forever – will be the most important relationship in your life!

Take the challenge and use the tips and give God time so He can become your Best Friend Forever (B.F.F.).

Prayer

Father God, we love you and we know you love us. Please help us feel your mighty presence just like we do our close friends here on earth. Fill us with love and joy like we feel when we are around our friends here on earth. We want to know and feel your love more each day. Help change our hearts to know we are worthy of all the love you pour upon us. Let us get to know you so we can feel like we are loved as the only one. Come and be our B.F.F. Amen.
